Barnane

In May I took part in the BLAST PROJECT ‘Bringing Live Arts to Students and Teachers’  (BLAST) is a professional Arts in Education residency initiative whereby schools and artists enhance the delivery of arts education for children in our schools. I joined forces with Therese and the children of Barnane NS to turn a grey, dismal wall, around an oil tank, into an inviting colourful wildflower display. This wall also showcased their school name and school motto.

Uniquely different

On home turf this time I collaborated once again with my old school in Templetuohy. I was tasked to choose a quote of inclusion and a mural that the children could all take part in. The flowers are all the children’s handprints with their own chosen colours to symbolise their own uniqueness.

School Garden Mural

I recently collaborated with the children of Castleiney National School to create a mural for their school garden. This was to be an educational mural to show case both the vegetables that they can grow in their garden in Ireland and the Irish wildflowers and their names. The children all picked and painted their own bugs in mural. The trees in the background are the trees the children can see from their playground. They named their garden after their much loved school secretary who retired that summer.

Easter Rising

My local church in Templetuohy set me the task of creating an scene of the tomb to be displayed at easter.
This now will be displayed every Easter on the Alter.

Pope John Paul mural

In 2019 I collaborated with the teenagers of the parish who were participating in the Pope John Paul Awards. We were tasked with creating a mural on a drab boiler house wall attached to the church. This mural had to brighten up the wall while also keeping sympathetic to the church and it’s surroundings.

Restoring Faith

lately I’ve found myself restoring statues. Last summer I repainted Jesus on the cross and Our Lady in our local graveyard and it just seemed to escalate from there. People asked me to restore their own statues. I loved bringing new life to the statues and seeing the joy that the newly restored statues brought to their owners. Here’s a few pictures.
